Monitor Audio teases updated Bronze Series speakers, includes Dolby Atmos model

Monitor Audio has announced some details of its new 6th Generation Bronze Series, which it will unveil at the Bristol Show in February. And the good news for cinema system builders is that it will include a Dolby Atmos model, the first from the company.

Described as 'a complete upgrade in both performance and build quality', the new Bronze Series will feature the following:

• Bronze 50 (bookshelf)
• Bronze 100 (bookshelf)
• Bronze 200 (floorstander)
• Bronze 500 (floorstander)
• Bronze C150 (centre)
• Bronze FX (rear/surround)
• Bronze AMS (Dolby Atmos enabled)
• Bronze W10 (subwoofer)

Pricing remains unconfirmed – beyond Monitor Audio saying the range will begin with the £260-per-pair Bronze 50s (for which the company has released a sneak peek pic – above).

Specification details are also currently a bit thin on the ground. MA says a new cabinet design features 'a modern profile and a separate contrasted baffle' and that the updated drivers use Damped Concentric Mode (DCM) technology to 'optimise the audio experience'. Tweeters will employ Uniform Dispersion Waveguides.

Finish options have been confirmed: Bronze buyers will be able to choose from Black, White, Walnut and Urban Grey, each with a two-tone look courtesy of the front baffle.

The series will be the latest makeover of MA's entry-level full-size lineup, originally launched in 2000. The previous 5th Generation debuted in 2015.
