LG has today confirmed that the digital music streaming service Spotify will be available on some of its 2013 range of Blu-ray players and home cinema systems from April.

The Spotify app, accessible from the brand's Smart platform, will give subscribers access to the service's huge song library, and allow favourite tunes and playlists to be shared via Facebook and Twitter. Those without a Spotify account can take a one-month free trial before deciding whether it's worth the tenner-a-month subscription fee.

Said LG UK's consumer electronics marketing chief Craig West: 'LG’s Smart platform provides unparalleled choice for consumers and the addition of Spotify demonstrates LG’s continued commitment to growing the brand’s Smart offering for consumers.

'We are confident that LG Smart media owners will enjoy these latest services, as well as the fantastic updates we have planned for the rest of the year.'

Spotify will be available on LG products including the flagship BH9430W all-in-one home cinema package and the BP630 Blu-ray player.
