It appears that 20th Century Fox has finally given up on all of the 'is it an Alien prequel or not' malarky with the full length trailer for Ridley Scott's sci-fi flick Prometheus, which is due to arrive on UK cinemas on June 1.

Packed with direct references to Scott's 1979 sci-fi horror smash (most notably the Space Jockey and its derelict spacecraft), the new Prometheus trailer finally fills us in on some of the details surrounding the film's storyline before assaulting us with tantilising glimpses of the biomechanical horror it eventually unleashes. It also doesn't hurt that it's one of the best edited trailers to come out of Hollywood in a long time, managing to excite, entice and tease us, without giving away every single plot and action beat.

You can find the US version of the Prometheus trailer here and the alternate UK version right here. You can also check out a gallery of screengrabs from the 1080p trailer below.
