Mega Movie Week slashes prices on digital downloads

Download stores and software studios have teamed up to launch Mega Movie Week. Running from today until Sunday January 26th, and intended to 'showcase the simplicity of Download & Keep', the initiative slashes prices on a selection of movies.

Amazon Prime Video, the Apple TV app, BT TV Store, Chili, Google Play Store, Microsoft, PlayStation Store, Rakuten. TV, Sky Store and Talk Talk TV will all be offering cut-price downloads, with content coming from BBC, Lionsgate, Universal, Paramount, Sony Pictures, Spirit Entertainment, StudioCanal and Disney.

Among the titles newly priced in Mega Movie Week are Avengers Endgame, Bohemian Rhapsody, Alita: Battle Angel, Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw, Yesterday, Spider-Man: Far From Home, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Rocketman, and John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum.

With multiple download platforms involved, there's naturally no uniform pricing strategy, but you will find titles available from £3 to £8. As an example, Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw is selling as a Buy & Keep HD download for £6.99 on the Sky Store, down from £13.99 last week.

Says BASE, the British Association for Screen Entertainment: 'Whether you want to treat yourself at home, you’re planning the perfect night in with family or friends or you want to stock up on movies to watch on the go, Mega Movie Week is the perfect way to upgrade your digital film collection.'
