Hannspree gets Irish sales boost

Quirky TV brand out sells Sony and LG according to latest report

Champagne corks are popping at Hannspree's HQ today following the news that it had ranked second in a report of TV sales in Ireland. According to the report, by industry analyst Meko, only Samsung managed to outperform Hannspree in Ireland during Q3 of 2011, with Philips, Sony and LG all trailing behind.

'This is a major achievement for the Hannspree brand' stated Martin Kent, Territory Manager, UK and Eire, Hannspree UK Ltd. 'The TV market is extremely competitive with a lot of high profile Tier 1 brands. To be ranked above them is a clear sign of the increasing market presence o f the Hannspree brand. We intend to continue this success pattern in Ireland and hope to achieve similar results in the UK in 2012 and beyond'.

Andrew Maguire, Director of Hannspree's Irish distribution partner Midia Distribution put the success down to 'products that stand out from the crowd and which have excellent shelf presence'. Which makes us think that the credit for the brand's success is all down to TVs like this...

Rather than more nondescript models like this...

Rumours that Sony is working on a TV shaped like a pint of Guinness in the hopes of boosting sales in Ireland are still unconfirmed.
