Captain Marvel 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray to arrive July 15

Captain Marvel, the Disney/Marvel superhero smash released in March as an aperitif for April's Avengers: Endgame, will land on DVD, Blu-ray, 3D Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray in the UK on July 15. Alternately, if you can't be bothered waiting that long, it debuts in the US on June 11 – although, as usual, no 3D platter is planned for that territory.

As expected given the studio's past releases, Captain Marvel's 4K disc will feature Dolby Atmos audio, while the Blu-ray and 3D versions will feature DTS-HD MA 7.1 soundtracks. HDR grading is HDR10, with no Dolby Vision or HDR10+ dynamic metadata alternative (despite Disney's brief flirtation with the former on its Black Panther and The Last Jedi 4K discs)

Extra features across the 4K and BD versions include six deleted scenes, a gag reel and a host of featurettes covering star Brie Larson's involvement, Nick Fury's origins, directing duo Anna Boden & Ryan Fleck, and more.

Boden and Fleck also provide an optional intro to the movie and a commentary track.

Those who choose to go for Captain Marvel's digital release on July 1 will get some exclusive bonus material in the shape of the Journey into Visual Effects with Victoria Alonso and What Makes a Memory: Inside the “Mind Frack” featurettes.
