Fox debuts BD Live with X-Files sequel

HCC News Team's picture

The second X-Files movie will be the first Fox Blu-ray to take advantage of BD Live technology. The studio is promising that the BD release of The X-Files: I Want To Believe will include a variety of web-enhanced content, such as games (groan) and connectivity to fellow Lone Gunmen.

Viewers will be urged to create a Special Agent avatar in the so-called The X-Files Dossier, which will entitle you to debate your conspiracy theories with other fans as well as work on an ongoing selection of X-Files.

Profile 1.1 player owners shouldn't feel left out. The disc will also sport a picture-in-picture commentary from director Chris Carter. A total of three hours of bonus material will be included, as well as a Digital Copy of the film for portable viewing.

Mary Daily, Fox's US executive VP for marketing says: 'The extras on this release take full advantage of the BD-Live technology and bring that interactive experience to a level never before possible.' The platter lands on Planet Earth December 2.
