Puppet Master and The Dead Want Women on the way

It's a case of something old and something new for the cult horror label 88 Films this Summer

UK independent label 88 Films has made a name for itself in recent months by resurrecting cult 80's and 90s shockers like The Pit and the PendulumSorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-RamaTourist Trap and Castle Freak on DVD. And now it's revealed just what it has in store for fans this Summer...

First up is a brand-new Full Moon Pictures release, The Dead Want Women. Arriving on DVD on July 30, the film stars Eric Roberts and Jessica Morris and tells the story of two young women who discover that the mansion they've bought has more than just skeletons in its closets. It was once the home of the world's biggest silent movie star, Rose Pettigrew, who went on a murder spree in the 1920s before killing herself. And now she's getting a little restless. Priced around £13, the DVD will also include a behind-the-scenes featurette, stills gallery, the complete script in PDF format, trailers and reversible sleeve art.

Even more exciting is the news the label is releasing the iconic 1989 Full Moon hit Puppet Master on both DVD and Blu-ray on August 20. Priced around £13 and £16 respectively, both the DVD and Blu-ray releases promise a bumper selection of bonus features including a UK-exclusive audio commentary by Justin Kerswell (author of Teenage Wasteland: The Slasher Movie Uncut), a second commentary by writer/producer Charles Band, an archival Making of... featurette, a video intro by Charles Band, trailers and reversible sleeve art.
