Humax outs 2TB version of its DTR-T1010 YouView PVR

Catch-up laden box can store up to 1,200 hours of SD TV

PVR honcho Humax has launched a new 2TB version of the YouView DTR-T1010, bumping up the recording space for telly addicts to around 1,200 hours of standard-definition or 500 hours of HD.

Available for £300 via Humax Direct, the DTR-T1010/2TB box packs all the features of its 1TB stablemate. This includes access to the BBC iPlayer, ITV Player, 4oD and Demand 5 catchup services via a seven-day backwards EPG, plus free-to-air TV and an on-demand portal. The latter includes content from Dave, Yesterday, Now TV and the Sky Store.

Like its predecessor, the 2TB model sports a silver design, and counts Ethernet (but not Wi-Fi) and HDMI among its connections. Dual tuners are onboard, enabling trickplay functionality. Control can be done via the supplied remote of the YouView app, which puts a TV guide on your smart device and lets you schedule records remotely.

The introduction of the DTR-T1010/2TB means the price points of the rest of the range have changed. The 500GB DTR-T1010 is now £230; the 1TB model is now £250 (it previously retailed for £300).
