Batman Trilogy Blu-ray giftset confirmed for December 3

Warner spills the beans on the UK release of The Dark Knight Rises

Following on from our earlier story, Warner Home Video has now officially announced that it will be releasing The Dark Knight Trilogy Limited Edition boxset on December 3rd in the UK, the same day as the final part in the trilogy - The Dark Knight Rises - arrives on Blu-ray, DVD and digital download. The giftset includes all three films (plus all existing special features) and an exclusive book that will 'take fans deeper into the epic franchise'.

The Dark Knight Rises will be available on two-disc Blu-ray and on single-disc DVD. Warner states that the Blu-ray release 'takes advantage of the marriage of IMAX and 35mm formats by using the hybrid master to replicate the unique theatrical experience of integrated film formats' - presumably this refers to the type of shifting aspect ratio that was previously seen on the Blu-ray release of The Dark Knight.

As previously reported, the Blu-ray is also available in limited edition Bat Cowl packaging. Both the Blu-ray and the single-disc DVD also include UltraViolet copies, allowing consumers to download the standard-def version of the movie for watching on other devices.

Here's a full breakdown of the extras for the DVD and Blu-ray release...
