AMX opens UK home automation showroom

HCC News Team's picture

American home automation specialist AMX has opened a London office and showroom.

The 6,000 sq.ft. facility showcases the latest in touch-screens, networking technology and wall controllers, and will also serve as a training centre for custom installers.

Based near London Wall, the AMX office features demo facilities for home, office and corporate systems, including Modero touch panels, Lutron lighting, MAX media servers, and security and HVAC systems.

HCC was among the first visitors and got a guided tour of the facility, which mirrors the company's New York and Las Vegas offices (AMX also has a European office in rather less glamorous Yorkshire).

We were particularly taken by the latest range of affordable touch-screen controllers (though to be honest, if you have to ask how much they are, you can’t afford them), and by the Device Discovery scheme, in which AMX has more than 15 partners working to make sure that their equipment works smoothly with AMX gear.

Tim Penn, AMX Europe's MD, said 'This is a very exciting development for AMX, and part of our continued ambitious expansion in the UK. AMX in York, where we have been for the last 15 years, will now oficially become our new European headquarters to ensure the best possible support for all our current and future customers across this region.'

Visit the website at www.amx.com for more information, or speak to your specialist installer if you would like to arrange a visit to the showroom.
