Sky Blue review

Anton van Beek's picture

Visually opulent, but virtually bankrupt in terms of narrative and characterisation, Sky Blue is a disappointing slice of Korean anime. Originally titled Wonderful Days in its homeland, this is a reworking of the film featuring several changes to the structure, and the recording of an English language dub.
The 1.78:1 encode is an improvement on Tartan’s previous DVD transfer. The CG environments are purposefully soft, while the character art is pin-sharp. The DTS-HD MA and Dolby TrueHD mixes are similarly impressive. The sole extra is a 36-min featurette about the making of the film.
