Doctor Who: Brain of Mobius review

Anton van Beek's picture

First broadcast in January, 1976, this four-part story is a cracking example of the Gothic horror that ran riot in Doctor Who’s thirteenth season. The Brain of Morbius finds Tom Baker’s Doctor up against a mad scientist creating a new patchwork body for a renegade Timelord (who currently exists as little more than a brain in a jar). It's a whole lotta fun, and the 1.33:1 transfer and mono audio track have been lovingly restored to the best the source material will allow. And as with the best of these classic Doctor Who DVD releases, there’s also a wealth of fan-pleasing extras including a commentary, trivia track, retrospective doc, and much more.
